Heiki Vilep is one of Estonia's best-loved children's authors. His poems fill a first-grade ABC book and appear in Estonian school textbooks up to grade seven, and his books are on the shelves of kindergartens and schools across the country. He has won the K. E. Sööt Prize for children's poetry, and his books have been translated into Finnish, English and Russian.
